The Espace Culturel Vertières announced the return of its annual multicultural event, Zantray 2024, set to take place on November 16, 2024, at the Sylvain Lelièvre Hall of Collège Maisonneuve in Montreal. The event will spotlight Haitian history and culture through a series of performances featuring music, dance, and historical reflection.
Beethova Obas, an internationally recognized Haitian musician, will headline the event as the guest of honor. Known for his fusion of traditional Haitian rhythms and modern Caribbean influences, Obas is expected to deliver a performance that reflects the depth of Haitian cultural heritage. In a statement shared on social media, Obas invited his audience to “celebrate Haitian art” and announced his participation alongside Indigenous and African artists.

The event will feature performances by OktoEcho, Kalabanté, and OreDans, three groups rooted in the Haitian diaspora. These ensembles aim to explore the evolution of Haitian culture, from its Indigenous beginnings to its African and European influences.
In addition to the performances, the evening will include a cocktail reception, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage with the artists and other participants. Haitian poet Frantz Benjamin will host the event, offering insights into the historical significance of the performances.
Organized by Espace Culturel Vertières, a Montreal-based non-profit dedicated to promoting cultural diversity and inclusion, Zantray 2024 is part of the organization’s broader mission to foster connections between communities through educational and artistic initiatives.
