Are you a journalist, researcher, or writer with a passion for exploring Haiti’s politics, society, or economy? Haiti Wire is looking for original reporting and thought-provoking essays that dig deep into the issues that shape Haiti. Before submitting your work, review our guidelines to ensure a successful pitch.
For Reporters and Investigators:
We accept original long-form stories, deep investigative pieces, and thoroughly reported essays. The topics can vary but must offer unique insights or break new ground in our understanding of Haiti’s political or social environment.
What to Send:
Submit a brief pitch (1-3 paragraphs) detailing your story idea, your approach, and how your piece will stand out. Completed drafts should not be sent without approval. Previous work samples will help us evaluate your pitch.
For Opinion, Essay and Commentary Writers:
We seek original, well-argued essays and commentary on major issues affecting Haiti. Pieces should provide fresh perspectives or challenge common assumptions, avoiding overly partisan views or familiar arguments.
What to Send:
Send a brief outline of your argument, your expertise or experience in the area, and how your perspective will provide a new angle. A completed draft can be attached if available.

Submissions must be original and unpublished elsewhere. We do not accept work from PR agencies, and authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
