Vakam, the new music group led by renowned Haitian artist Kenny Desmangles, has released its first album, Winner. Initially planned for September, the album arrived just in time for the end of the year, offering fans a heartfelt blend of melodies and inspiring themes.

The album’s title, Winner, reflects Desmangles’ personal and professional journey. “After all the challenges I’ve faced in my life and career, I’m still standing, thanks to God,” he shared. The titular track speaks to overcoming adversity, resonating with those navigating their own struggles and serving as a testament to perseverance.

Winner also stands out for its collaborative spirit, featuring notable Haitian artists such as Armstrong Jeune, Master Brain, Leicka Paul, and Atis Saj. Desmangles highlighted the natural synergy among the collaborators, built on mutual respect and friendship. “I’m grateful for their contributions,” he said.

Released less than 24 hours ago, Winner has already climbed to the top spot in the World Music category on major streaming platforms. Tracks such as Pa ret anyen, Vaksen, Manvi wè pitit mwen, and Ou blese m have quickly become fan favorites. Desmangles personally recommends Manvi wè pitit mwen, calling it one of the album’s most emotional pieces.

As Winner gains momentum, Vakam is preparing for an exciting 2025. The group plans to host a major live debut of the album in the United States, giving fans an opportunity to experience the music firsthand. In the meantime, the album is available on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, and other platforms.
