Port-au-Prince, September 19, 2024 – Leslie Voltaire, President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), visited the headquarters of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAD’H) on Wednesday, engaging in strategic talks aimed at reinforcing the army.

During discussions with Lieutenant General Derby Guerrier, the FAD’H commander-in-chief, Voltaire emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the army’s optimal function, in line with Article 136 of the Constitution, which mandates the president to maintain institutional stability. Voltaire requested a comprehensive list of the army’s needs, particularly in light of the nation’s ongoing security crisis.

Lieutenant General Guerrier expressed gratitude for the government’s support and reiterated the army’s key role in protecting national sovereignty and responding to disasters. He also highlighted ongoing projects, including 25 military-run farms, and called for continued backing from the presidency.
