PORT-AU-PRINCE (Haiti Wire) – Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé has appointed two delegate ministers to his administration, reinforcing the government’s focus on addressing critical national issues. The appointments, announced Thursday, name Dr. Gracien Jean as Minister Delegate in Charge of Electoral and Constitutional Affairs and Herwill Gaspard as Minister Delegate for Solidarity and Humanitarian Affairs.

These appointments are seen as a response to pressing electoral and humanitarian challenges, as Haiti grapples with political instability and social crises.

Leadership Appointments at DGI and CEP

During Wednesday’s Council of Ministers meeting, new leadership was also announced for the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI). Romiald Petit was named Director General, and Alfred Pierre will serve as Deputy Director General. These appointments are aimed at enhancing fiscal management and institutional stability.

The council also completed the composition of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) by appointing Magalie Georges to represent the Human Rights sector and Yves Marie Édouard to represent the Women’s sector. These additions aim to bolster the council’s legitimacy and inclusivity as it prepares for long-overdue elections.
