The Haitian online community has voiced strong reactions following confirmed reports that the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) is pushing for the dismissal of Foreign Minister Dominique Dupuy. The Miami Herald recently reported that the CPT has called for Dupuy’s removal due to her tough stance against the Dominican Republic’s deportation policies, leading to a standoff between the council and Prime Minister Garry Conille.

Many Haitians on social media have rallied in support of Dupuy, questioning the motives behind the CPT’s actions. On X (formerly Twitter), several users criticized the council for its focus on ousting Dupuy while neglecting other internal issues. One user, @leslievoltaire, expressed frustration, accusing the council of turning a blind eye to corruption scandals within its own ranks. “You make a big deal of removing the Foreign Minister to satisfy your ego… but ignore the corruption scandals?” they wrote.

Another user, @richardsenecal, described the push to oust Dupuy as driven by outdated, conservative views, suggesting the CPT is out of touch with the country’s changing landscape. Meanwhile, @Oliver_Mhuriro highlighted the internal conflict, noting that Prime Minister Garry Conille has resisted the council’s demands to remove Dupuy.

Dupuy has earned public support for her recent diplomatic efforts, including securing international aid and rallying opposition to the Dominican Republic’s mass deportations of Haitians. Conille has praised Dupuy’s work, stating she has been instrumental in advancing Haiti’s foreign relations.

The ongoing conflict between the CPT and Conille over Dupuy’s position reflects deeper tensions within Haiti’s transitional government. As the public continues to debate the issue, questions remain about leadership, governance, and the future of Haiti’s foreign policy.
