The Haitian government has introduced a new online platform to facilitate the registration and management of Haitian migrants returning from the Dominican Republic. The platform was presented by members of the Multisectoral Group for the Management and Support of Repatriated Individuals, in an effort to improve the processing and care of returning citizens.
The meeting, led by the Multisectoral Group, evaluated the current operations at entry points where migrants are received. The group identified areas for improvement to ensure more effective handling of repatriation cases. The digital platform aims to streamline the registration process and centralize information, enabling quicker and more organized assistance for returnees.
With the number of deportations from the Dominican Republic on the rise, this initiative reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the growing migration crisis. However, concerns remain about the long-term social integration of the thousands of Haitian migrants returning to the country.
The platform is part of the government’s broader strategy to enhance the reception and care of repatriated individuals, in line with measures already in place.
