NEW YORK, Sept 2024 – The 8th annual Haiti Tech Summit will be held on September 27, 2024, in New York, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and tech leaders to explore how technology can tackle global issues. The summit, known as the “Davos of the Caribbean,” is part of a 13-year initiative aimed at transforming Haiti into a tech hub by 2030.
High-profile speakers, including Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter, and executives from Google, Facebook, and Airbnb, have headlined past editions. This year’s event, titled the Legacy Edition, will feature keynotes from leaders in tech, government, and business, including Einstein Ntim from Ghana’s Diaspora Affairs Office and Ty Heath, LinkedIn’s Director of Market Engagement.
Focus on Tech for Social Good
The summit will include panel discussions on topics such as corporate innovation, sustainability, and the role of the Haitian diaspora in rebuilding the country. Speakers will include executives from Cornell University, Xcyte Digital Corporation, and CEDEL Haiti.
Since its launch, the summit has attracted over 100 organizations, making it the largest tech event in the Caribbean. Organizers aim to use the platform to accelerate Haiti’s development through partnerships and investment.
